Apparently when Lord Charles the first got executed, his son Charles the second fled to France and ordered the castle to be dismantled and blown up so the enemy couldn't use it.
Lovely day here, sat and cooked lunch in the carpark with our tables and chairs out.
Then walked the dogs to the top of the castle.
